How to Store Your Flower for Maximum Freshness

Proper storage can keep your flower fresh for months. Bad storage ruins it in days. Here's the difference.

Keep Your Flower Fresh

Nothing ruins a great strain faster than bad storage. Here's how to keep your flower at peak quality.

The Enemies of Freshness

  • Light — UV rays degrade cannabinoids and terpenes
  • Air — Oxygen dries out flower and breaks down compounds
  • Heat — Accelerates degradation
  • Moisture — Too much causes mold, too little dries it out
  • The Ideal Setup

    • Container: Glass jar with airtight seal (Mason jars work great)
    • Location: Cool, dark place (closet, drawer, cabinet)
    • Temperature: 60-70°F (room temperature or slightly below)
    • Humidity: 58-62% relative humidity

    Humidity Packs

Boveda or Integra Boost packs maintain perfect humidity inside your jar. Drop one in and forget about it — they last 2-4 months.

    What NOT to Do

    • Don't store in plastic bags (static strips trichomes)
    • Don't store in the fridge (temperature fluctuations cause condensation)
    • Don't leave the jar open
    • Don't store near windows or heat sources
    • Don't grind until ready to use

    Shelf Life

Properly stored flower maintains quality for 6-12 months. After that, potency slowly decreases but the product doesn't become unsafe.
